Research & Development

Our patents

The research activity carried out in recent years has allowed Demus to publish two articles at the ASIC congress held in Trieste in May 2001 and to obtain 3 patents in Italy, of these two have been extended to foreign countries.

First research

The first research was carried out with an external laboratory and allowed us to perform a process to remove Ochratoxin A from green coffee, a fungus metabolite potentially dangerous to human health.

Such patents were extended to some extre European Countries as well, such as Colombia, USA, Canada, Hong Kong, Mexico, Singapore and Brazil

Second research

The second research derives from a collaboration with University and demonstrates the effectiveness of the Demus procedure in the removal of trichloroanisole and geosmine, two molecules that cause negative flavours in coffee.
